Appears possible per this article he could be moved and they want bigs/wings coming back - Luol Deng was mentioned as a possibility. Would you consider trading Gerald Wallace or Batum for him, or maybe Wesley and change?

Obviously we would have to consider him our PG most of the time, he has split that position with Curry and Ellis is without a doubt a scoring PG. Could we do any better?

I'm going to leave the Luol Deng question alone for now, but as for Monta Ellis ... he's a pretty damn good scoring guard, he's durable as hell (minus a moped accident) he can play pretty good defense when he puts his mind to it and he's probably better than any perimeter player currently on our roster. BUT (it's a big "but" in case you didn't get that) Nate would have to be gone; the way they want to play is like mixing oil and water and Nate would just end up neutering him by trying force him to play in a down-tempo, half-court game.

One caveat though: Even if Nate were replaced with a more offensive minded coach (like Adelman for instance) I'm not really sure Ellis is anything more than a short shooting guard, so he doesn't really solve our point guard dilemma.

They would demand Batum, Matthews and our pick......At least. Matthews, Williams, Babbitt and Rudy would be laughed at.

Nate having to be gone would be a bonus.

The Warriors have a competent front office now. It's going to be harder to make a lopsided deal with them.

    Why?

Would you trade Aldridge for Troy Murphy and Al Thornton?

They'd ask for more than that, IMO.

If they wanted to be rid of someone, heck almost every team has done that type of thing

Or Zach for Channing and Francis.

Teams make moves all the time for reasons other than just matching up value to a T. Sometimes it is financial(Wallace), sometimes, it's because there is another player they want in his position(Curry, instead of Ellis). I don't know if they'd actually do that deal, and I imagine other teams will come calling if he is available that could offer more.

Only stupid teams trade good players for crap when they want to replace that guy with someone else.

You guys want him to play PG here?

He's an unbelievable talent but I don't think he fits the current roster (with LA as the main guy) or the coach.
