Unless Kobe reconstructs his contract to literally more then half to get them under the cap. I don't see how your able to sign anyone despite the paycut.

Nice thing by Kobe to do that. He is one of the biggest competetors in the League and I can tell he hates being on a "just mediocre" team. He is pushing for the team to get back up to it's glory days.

I'm not even going to joke. Barely any of us actually understand cap rules, team salaries, or things along that nature. I am one of them. I have no idea how it all works. Some one says they are reconstructing a contract, and automatically it is going to make the team better.Someone doesn't do it, and they are being selfish. For now, I'll just pretend that this is automatically going to help

And if artest signed up with the queens earlier on we may have even missed the playoffs. Consider the fact that the hornets are stocking up and will be deadly next season whilst mitch's major move was signing Vlade for the mle.Check our lineupC-Kwame- mediocrePF- Odom- GoodSF- Vlade- decentSG- Kobe- greatPF- Smush- mediocreWe have evans who will be good off the bench and then the rest of the team is medicore. So yes, he is right. At the moment, we are mediocre.

Whoa, timeout there buddy. Smush Parker is not mediocre. Second, Odom will be SF, Vladmir will be PF. Thirdly, the team is pursuing Marcus Banks. Lastly, Houston would not have done any better I'm tired of hearing those excuses what's done is done don't be a bi*ch and say "Oh well if they were healthy or if he was playing" sh*t like that. what happened, happened. everyone is overrating the queens and saying they would have been the top 4 in the west if they had Artest before. open up your f*cking eyes guys and realize the Queens got beat by the Spurs when people were saying they were going to win the championship. They're good, but Bibby-Wells-Artest-Rahim-Miller is just great on paper.

A guy who absouletly disappears when his team needs him? A guy who doesn't like playing defense? A guy who can't create shots for himself? If that isn't mediocre, what is?Houston are one of the best teams in the nba when they are healthy. You have one of the best swingman in the league and the best center. You put them together and you win. Tmac has said he's healthy and feeling well, if he is the rockets are better than us.The queens are a 50/50, if artest inspires them again then i it's hard to say we will be better than them. I too believed we were better than them but i was wrong. This lineup at the moment will not take us far.We are mediocre, open your eyes.

Artest can kiss Kobe's ass, Kings are going nowhere. Bonzi Wells might not even be there next year, Artest isn't the MVP of that team, Wells is.Stop giving the f*cking excuses. The Rockets just weren't good this season. It's not like both of them were out for the entire year. The 04 lakers had malone, bryant, and o'neal out for a long time for different periods of time. so shut the hell up w/ the excuses. also, it's funny how you call your favorite team medicore, you hypocrite.

I don't know where to start.Take a look at Sacramento's record before/after the Artest deal. Look at the difference he made in their defense, he single handedly made them a top 10 defensive team in the league. And if Artest isn't the MVP of the team, why the hell would Bonzi Wells be. Mike Bibby would. The Rockets were very good this season when not injured. But they just could not play without McGrady, and he missed 45 games. Plus Yao missed 35 games, and add in that Houston was not a deep team, of course they only won 34 games. In 2004 the Lakers were absolutely stacked. Having Malone out so long was bad, but it wasn't like it took them out of playoff contention. And Kobe only missed 17 games that year, which is 28 less than Houston's star guard. Shaq only missed 15 games, which is 20 less than Houston's star center. So the Lakers injuries in the 2004 regular season weren't as bad as Houston's.So someone who calls their favorite team mediocre (when they are) is a hypocrite. I think you're mixing up terminology, it is in fact, a fan who is not a blind homer. BTW, you're a Knicks fan and I've heard you say, "the Knicks are terrible", is it not hypocrisy to call someone out for criticizing their team when you have done the exact same thing?

There is no way in hell that Wells is the most valuable player on the Kings. He was when they played the Spurs in the first round, but not during the season. Just look at the record before and after Artest got there. Also, if Wells was the most valuable player on the Kings, why would they be letting him go?

Wells had a good season, although injury plagued, he had a great seris though. Not sure he fits in LA though.

BTW, you're a Knicks fan and I've heard you say, "the Knicks are terrible", is it not hypocrisy to call someone out for criticizing their team when you have done the exact same thing?</div>See, the Knicks won 23 games. That's horrible. The Lakers won 45 games. They lost about 10 games in the last 2 minutes in the 4th quarter. On the team, they have Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown (MR.DEFENSE, you praise him so much for it) Smush Parker (11 ppg is not mediocre. inconsistency does not make someone mediocre. I think you need to search up what the word mediocre) Chris Mihm (10 PPG) Brian Cook (good shooter) Sasha Vujacic (pesky defender, good shooter) Jim Jackson (good shooter) etc... Kobe was out for 17 games in 2004. Shaq was out for 15 games. Malone was out for most of the season. These injuries were not all at once, they were at different times, and both Kobe and Shaq were injured multiple times. For a lot of the season, the lineup was Gary Payton, Kareem Rush, Devean George, Slava Medvedenko and Horace Grant. This was their roster for the year<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Kobe BryantMaurice CarterBrian CookDerek FisherRick FoxDevean GeorgeHorace GrantKarl MaloneStanislav MedvedenkoShaquille O'NealJannero PargoGary PaytonKareem RushBryon RussellJamal SampsonIme UdokaLuke Walton</div>Pretty stacked huh? Bryon Russell, Jamal Sampson, Medvendeko, Grant, George, with Shaq, Kobe, and Malone out for a lot of the season and GP aging. Now the fact is, the Lakers made the playoffs this year and the Rockets did not. You can't change that, and you can't say they would have without the injuries because you don't f*cking know what would have happened. Now, Mike Bibby is not the MVP of the team. He is a shoot-first point guard. He isn't a good leader. He shoots and does not dish the ball very well. Ron Artest plays defense and scores some points. Him coming changed their season around but doesn't make him the MVP. When Rasheed Wallace came to Detroit in 04 and changed their season around, did that make Rasheed their MVP? Hell no, it was Chauncy Billups. Brad Miller and Bonzi Wells are the MVPs, Brad Miller is a constant threat on offense, he's a good rebounder and he's one of the best passing centers in the league. Wells scores, boards and does all the little things that wins the team games. He works extremely hard on the offensive end, he averages almost 3 offensive boards per game and on defense he gets about 2 steals per game. And yeah you're right, the reason why the Kings let Wells AND Adleman go is because they're fuckfaces.
See, the Knicks won 23 games. That's horrible. The Lakers won 45 games. They lost about 10 games in the last 2 minutes in the 4th quarter.
Umm, that's what young, mediocre teams do, they throw away games. LA started to become a good team later in the season but then they fell apart. They were young, and not very good. I expect a lot more next year.
Smush Parker (11 ppg is not mediocre. inconsistency does not make someone mediocre. I think you need to search up what the word mediocre)
Inconsistency is a sign of mediocrity. When Smush did well, he couldn't keep it up because he's not very good. He also has NO defense, and when he loses confidence he becomes a liability on the offensive end as well.
Malone was out for most of the season.
You make it seem like they spent almost all season without him. He was out for 40 games, basically half the season.
These injuries were not all at once, they were at different times, and both Kobe and Shaq were injured multiple times. For a lot of the season, the lineup was Gary Payton, Kareem Rush, Devean George, Slava Medvedenko and Horace Grant.
If the injuries were at different times, then how was that the lineup? Did Kobe come off the bench when Shaq was injured and vice versa? I remember that season, they had that lineup a few times, but didn't do too bad with it.
When Rasheed Wallace came to Detroit in 04 and changed their season around, did that make Rasheed their MVP? Hell no, it was Chauncy Billups.
It's a different story completely. The Pistons were having a good season and were headed to a top 3 seed in the East. Rasheed was the missing piece that propelled them to that championship status, he didn't turn the team around, he just boosted it. Before Ron Artest the Kings were not headed to the playoffs, they had one of the worst defenses in the league. He turned that team around, and he was the MVP.Ask anyone on this board and they will tell you that there's about a 5% chance that Houston would've missed the playoffs had it not been for injuries. That's why the west must look out for them this year (knock on wood).

Was it 0%? No, it was 5%-10% they would have missed it. You don't know, what would have happened. But what happened, already has occured.

But I'm 100% sure they were a better team than the Lakers, the Clippers, the Kings, and the Nuggets when healthy.
