<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>One season with the Grizzlies was enough for disgruntled guard Bobby Jackson. Sunday, Jackson, who last month said he would not return to the Grizzlies, reached a an agreement to play next season with the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. As a guest on a Sacramento radio station last month, Jackson stated he and Grizzlies' coach Mike Fratello did not see eye to eye with how Fratello was using him. Jackson, who is a free agent, can not sign with the Hornets until July 22nd, per NBA free agency rules.Jackson averaged 11.4 points and 2.7 assists per game last season in Memphis.</div>LINK I wish they reunited with the Kings but hey who doesnt like the Hornets?
July 22nd? I thought you could start signing on the 12th.Not bad, I like B-Jax. He's a good role player and he can score. But I have a question - does this mean that Speedy Claxton might not re-sign there? Or does this mean Jackson will be used as a full-time 2-guard?

Yeah, JR is as good as gone. He didn't see much time last year because he and coach Scott don't see eye to eye, and I have heard that he doesn't push himself. I know he suffered an injury, but if you look at him now, he has definitely gained some weight since his rookie season. But regardless, he is going to be a scorer in this league, he just needs a new beginning.

I like Bobby Jackson signing to the Hornets and think he is a perfect fit, but I;m a little sceptical of Peja due to injuries in the past few years and he has seemed to lose that touch from 3. But hey, a good shooter would be a perfect compliment to a very athletic and young team.
I'd like this move for the Hornets. Considering Speedy will probably leave, this is a good replacement
Wow. New Orleans is set for next year. I hope JR SMith will get traded. I dont want to see his talent get wasted.

Now they are a 3 point threat with Peja, Jackson and Redick spreading the offense out. This will improve their team scoring and will also make it easier for Howard offensively. I think the Magic are now a dark horse for the playoffs.</div>This is not the Magic. This is the Hornets.Redick = drafted by Magic
sh*t. I'll delete my post..Sorry, bonehead mistake.Anyway, the Hornets already have Butler and Mason don't they? I guess all the offensive help you can get..
the hornets will be pretty good but i dont know if they will be able to make the playoffs they have so many players but i dont know if there is enough playing time for everyone
Eh, I think it was a nice pickup to replace Speedy if he leaves. But I don't think these two put Hornets over the top. Doesn't Scott like defensive players? So far I don't see any defense coming in.
maybe trade JR smith for a defensive player. maybe trade for a long player like marko jaric or josh childress. both are able defenders and marko can cover the 2 guard positions. they will get quality back for JR smith, but your right they definitely need a decent defensive player in their backcourt

But how old is he?Anyway this is a pretty good sign. I think they can make the playoffs, but it will be hard.I think they should stop wasting money there be a lot of free agents after next season.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Fabolous @ Jul 2 2006, 07:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>LINK I wish they reunited with the Kings but hey who doesnt like the Hornets?</div>Why? You have Ron Artest and Mike Bibby at the 1 and 3. The only thing you really need is a Power Forward able to guard the interior. You will be a top 6 seed next year IMO unless you do something stupid to your roster. You shouldnt be complaining.
Backup CB4, Bobby Jackson isn't a starter, and when Bibby sits they have Jason Hart coming in. They need to improve the pg rotation in Sac. I agree with them not needing Peja when they have Artest, Martin, Garcia, and possibly Wells coming back.
