I looked at 25 mock drafts this morning (ok, ok, I was up at 4am) and while most had us taking Faried (if available), 2 had us taking Reggie Jackson, PG from Boston college ahead of faried.

Anyone have any thoughts on him? He strikes me as a Jared Jack type.

More athletic, but, if anything, fewer PG skills. Seems like an Elliott Williams duplicate.

I've been on his bandwagon for a while now. PapaG and I had a nice little chat about him a few weeks ago in the Lucas Nogueira thread. I think he's more of a PG than Rasta appears to. I'd rather we get a frontcourt player in the first round, but if we buy another late 1st round pick, I'd be fully in favor of him.

I'd prefer a "Mr. June" vs a Mr. October......

I'm pretty sure Nate would hate Reggie Jackson (I might too?) but he supposedly can shoot and handle the ball a bit and might be capable of becoming a point guard, so sure, why not.

Buchanan and the rest of the scouts need to come through with this pick. Between Babbitt, Williams and #21, one of them needs to be a player or the scouts will all be looking for another gig. Paul is not selecting the picks. He is going on their advice. If these rumors are true, and we take Jackson, he better turn out to have some PG skills. Because again IF (And that is a big IF) the rumors are true, then they made up their minds a long time ago while watching him in college.

i do like his "wing span". Seems to me to be like Barbousa

Jenkins has one of the more bizarre, inconsistent profiles I've ever seen on DraftExpress. They list his best case projection as OJ Mayo and his worst case as Randy Foye - two high lottery picks and pretty high expectations for a guy they have pegged at 27th in a weak draft. They also list him as the 38th best prospect in the draft, but have him going in the first round - that makes it sound like he's a reach at 27 - for a guy they compared to two high lottery picks. So, which is it? Does he have lottery pick potential (worst case) or is he a reach at 27?

The Reggie Jackson best/worst case projections are much less lofty and a more in line with where he's likely to be picked. Best case is George Hill - a late first round pick that has turned out to be a solid rotation player on a winning team. Worst case is Garrett Temple - an undrafted player who has bounced around the league on multiple 10-day contracts. Yet, Jackson is ranked much higher (21st best prospect) than Jenkins (38th), yet expected to slip into the second round. So, does that make Jackson a potential second round steal? And, why has his stock slipped?

Reggie Jackson has missed some workouts because of a knee problem.

Knowing this, I fully expect the Blazers to draft him, and then have him miss the entire season with one surgery or another.

I still like my idea of Uncle Paul spending $9M and coming up with 4 picks in the 20's, regardless of what we do to get a high lotto pick.

Take your pick of Jenkins, Cole, Faried, Motiejunas, Tyler, Jackson, Butler etc...

well, they do scouting, and they also do mock drafts

just because they think a player is the 21st best player, doesnt necessarily mean they believe he will be the 21st player picked.
