The only way that trade makes sense is if Rondo's injury in the playoffs is worse than first thought and he has to have his arm amputated. A one armed Rondo is better than Blake.
Haha my nephew (who's a Celtic fan) went into full panic mode when he saw this on the Twitterverse. I thought I would share the moment with you all.
The Lakers gave up too much. Walton was on the cusp of becoming great. His dad finally showed in the ganja.
newest one has Pau Gasol for Kevin Love and the #2 and Johnny Flynn and Martell or some sort of package. maybe the lakers throw in Steve Blaker wtf.
Lots of trade rumors involving Love the last few days. I heard the wolves owner wants to try and trade Love at the moment because he thinks that this is the peek of his trade value and doesn't want to have to pay him a max deal when he feels that Loves stats will drop and that he isn't a team player. Can't remember what sports show I was listening to when I heard that on so I dismissed it as false, but with all the Love rumors coming up maybe its not all hogwash.
I'm sure Kobe would love that. Yeah, get a bunch of young unproven players and Kevin "defense?" Love. hehe, Laker fans. They're almost as bad as Blazer fans when it comes to trades.
I think the Minnesota/Laker trade partnership makes since. A Spaniard to play with Rubio and Love would fit nicely with Bynum, (Better than Gasol does) However Minnesota would be stupid to throw in the #2 pick. Can they still use Curry's contract? Otherwise how would they get close to the 18 million that Gasol makes? Are they under the cap?
Why would they be stupid to throw in the #2 pick? I'm being honest here, I thought this was considered a weak draft class? And if the rumors are true and they want to pair up Gasol and Rubio because of the Spanish connection and the comfort level they have with each other, isn't that worth the #2 pick? Despite his playoff struggles, Gasol for Love is a rip for the Lakers'.
It is a weak draft. Except for the top 2. Derrick Willams and Love (Plus what ever it takes to reach 18 million) is too much for the 31 year old Gasol who has logged a lot of miles since he was a teenager. Minnesota is a few years away from contending. Gasol will be too old for that. A young Love for an older Gasol is fair. (Plus filler) But I like Williams. Throwing him in the deal makes no sense for this young Minnesota team IMO. Edit: Plus getting out of Gasol's huge contract is another advantage for the Lakers.
Apparently I am not the only one who feels this way: Jerry Zgoda: Re: #Timberwolves-Pau rumors. They're definitely interested, but not for KLove, probably not for No. 2 and certainly not for both. Twitter
It didn't make much sense for Minny to trade a building block for a 30+ year old player like Pau. They need vets but they should be around the age of the player I think Minny should push hard for: Andrew Bogut.
