He has made the team more athletic, we can run better, and we now have more chips if we want to get an all-star. Our first unit as of now would likely consist of Delonte West, Paul Pierce, Wally Szczerbiak, Ryan Gomes, and Kendrick Perkins. That is a very good half-court team, with many shooters and a defensive presence inside. Then take a look at the second unit. Sebastian Telfair, Tony Allen, Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, with Scabs, Leon Powe, Rajon Rondo, and Dwayne Jones grabbing some minutes. That team is a highlight reel waiting to happen. Just look at all the athleticism! And if they need to go to a half court set, the offense will revolve around Jefferson's inside presence, Telfair and TA's penetration, as well as a few iso's for Green. If you don't know where i'm going with this, it means that we can adjust to other teams throughout the game. We are so much more of a versatile team now. Good job, Danny. Now just land us an all-star.
I think we can decide that in a few years, it seems a little too presumptuous to say that until we see how his picks develop.
Yeah I agree, he has done a fairly good job. Some of his trades/transactions were horrible though. The Toine sign and trade and Scalabrine signing were some of the worst off-season moves before last season.
You guys have all this young talent but putting it together into a winner is going to be really tough.
