    Per the Dallas Morning News.

    Casey has been our wheelhouse for eight years dating back to the hiring of Kevin O'Neill and again with Sam Mitchell. His supposed defensive genius helped the Mavericks overcome the odds to win the title this year.

    Casey had a brief stint with Minnesota as his only head coaching experience in the NBA.
