Is my man-crush on Jennings undeserved? Jay Allen just mentioned on The Game that he may be available. Thoughts?

Get him. He'd be a good one to have long term, although I'm not sure how he fits in with PA's and Nate's desire to win right now?

The Bucks are looking to move Bogut as well to move into the #2 spot so they are possibly looking to retool. If they are looking to get out of some of their long-term contracts, I'd wonder if they would bite on Andre + Batum + 21st pick for Jennings and Salmons (who's owed a lot of cash for the next few seasons). They get salary cap relief, a young player and another pick. Blazers get a possible PGOTF and some bench scoring.

Nick Van Exel II. Fun to watch, but will shoot you out of games. And Andre Miller will abuse him in the post.

If PA likes Patty (and Damon like in the past), he'll love Jennings. I liked him his rookie year as well, but he had a pretty significant sophomore slump. But this is the time to buy low.

Huh. Surprising. He just seemed to be off this year after all the hype he got his rookie year.

I'm not a fan. A scoring PG with a PER hovering around 15... even at his age, I'm not very enthusiastic about his future.

I like Jennings, but I'm a little scared too. He doesn't strike me as the kind of point guard that wins championships.

BTW, I can't wait to see the BJ vs. Rubio matchup after Jennings talked mad smack about Ricky few years ago.

He trumps whatever options we have staring us in the face a year from now, so I'd be fine with him ... but let's talk trade details and maybe I'm not as enthused.

Something tells me that Jennings is going to beat him silly and take his lunch money.

From what I've seen, they're not all that excited about trading him away, it seems. But a deal of Miller and Matthews for Jennings, Salmons and Gooden for one fits financially. It gives us a young PG to grow with Aldridge. Veteran options in Salmons to start at SG, or bench behind Roy, and be a solid option, and Gooden as a backup 4, who is overpaid, yes, but not a terrible option there.
I dunno if I would. I also like Jennings, and he is better than any other long term options we have currently. I dunno about taking on that salary. I don't want to move Wes, but we need someone else who can get his own shot on our team, and a 3 man rotation of Wes, Batum and Wallace isn't going to get that for us. Salmons is still a decent defender, decent shooter, decent ball handler.
For Milwaukee, they get rid of two poor contracts, and add a local product in Matthews. Of course, he'd be better as an option for them alongside Jennings, so...

If we're saying that our biggest need is talent, then I would say that pretty much any deal for Jennings that doesn't involve Crash, LMA, or Oden is probably a net positive for us.

Well, if we give up Miller and Matthews for him... sign me up. I thought we'd have to move one of Wallace/Aldridge/Oden to get him.

His rookie year he had more than on analyst calling him the second coming of Nick Van Exel but he was very 'meh' during his sophomore season. Looking at their roster I'd think they'd want at least Batum in return considering Brandon is just 21 and their starting PG.

I would wonder why the Bucks would want to get rid of him. If he's on the block, there's a reason.

There was a LOT of talk of him being angry in Milwaukee this year. He was upset with management for making what he thought were bad moves, mad about how he was used. Mad about the team not playing to there potential, had a rift with Andrew Bogut. The guy was toxic for most of the year, a lot of Milwaukee fans on the RealGM board were all for trading the arrogant guy for another point guard for a good part of the season.

And there you go... the guy has always seemed like he had an attitude, and I really don't want another Damon Stoudamire.

I loved Jennings his rookie year, he kinda disappeared his sophomore year (could be a positive "buy low" situation as someone stated earlier) but I definitely noticed the guy is totally big headed. He could be a player that causes serious riffs in the team. He also jacks up shots constantly which has resulted in a 55pt game his rookie year but leaves him with a poor FG%. His potential is through the roof though and I think he could learn to be a very good passing PG under nate eventually. Ultimately I just hope we make a move Thursday night for a young vet PG. Jennings is definitely a good piece to go after, but I wonder/hope we're including talks for other PG's that might cost us less. I still like Brooks, I think we have a team that he could definitely thrive with, and he would also be a buy-low candidate. I just hope management does SOMETHING, I would be extremely let down (like I have been the last couple drafts) if we dont be aggressive thursday night.
