Shoulder is still bothering him. That was the most important part to me. 37 years old, bad shoulder, vital to the team.....eek, not the ideal blue print

Eggers is solid. I wish the Oregonian would have hired Brian Smith from The Columbian before he bailed to a paper in Salt Lake City.

Yeah, but even if it is a torn labrum, there's time to get it fixed and be ready to play by the time next season is likely to start (January?).

37 years old e_blazer. Regardless of time, it will take him a long time to heal

You make 37 sound like it's ready for the old folks home. Never a silver rim around any clouds in your universe, MM. ;)

Labrum tears come in various kinds. Some are quick to recover from, others take six months or so. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he even has a tear before we start issuing our message boar diagnoses.

Kerry Eggers is EASILY the best basketball writer in town.

The best sportswriter in town, period. I love his college coverage too (of course it helps that he can always get the inside info on anything happening in Corvallis where his Dad was once the SID).

And to top all that, he's an extremely nice guy too.

We should be looking to trade Camby and getting whatever value we can.

I think we probably agree here, though :)

I really expected more from Camby in the playoffs this year. He wasn't nearly the factor that I thought he'd be, and I think it was a sign that he's on his way out the door.

I think it's a sign he has a torn labrum. I've had one myself, it makes it really hard to reach for anything, let alone rebounds and block shots in the league. If he can get it repaired, I think he'll be extremely valuable off the bench when the season starts in 2012.

Camby won't be here in 2012, unless you're talking about a shortened season from the lockout. Right now I think his contract is more valuable in trade than he will be for us on the court.

Yes I'm talking about a lockout, the main subject of the article, I guess it all depends on how he heals but when it comes to trades/trade value everything is relative.
