I disagree. He's at least as good as Miller at almost everything and better than Miller at something we really need... shooting! And he's younger and will be year for several years. I havent heard anything about Jameer as a teammate, but he's gotta be better than loner Miller.
I don't like it. I'm hoping it's a smoke screen. Of all the point guards, Nelson is probably the least appealing to me. I'd rather have Devon Harris, and that's not saying much.
I am all for Jameer, but I want to keep the pick, maybe give them our 2nd? I don't know how realistic that is though. Maybe we could throw in a guy like armon and the 2nd. I would love to get Jameer to Portland, but it seems like a lot when we already have Andre and we could get a quality backup PF with the 21st pick. It is an interesting trade though. If we did this, I would love to see us swing a deal with the Bucks to get the #10 pick.
JohnCanzanoBFT John Canzano Whisper on Miller and #21 for Nelson... Blazers would like to expand deal.
He measured 5'11" without shoes. Still short, but not anywhere near 5'8". http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jameer-Nelson-3736/links/ Ed O.
Which means that Crapzano will spin it that the Blazers could have gotten D.Howard also but the front office fucked it up.
Bass? Anderson? (As an aside: anyone still think Anderson was a throw-in on the Carter trade? I felt he was a better prospect than Courtney Lee at the time of the trade, and history has determined that I was right. For once. ) Hedo? Haha. Ed O.
I would love to get Anderson, otherwise I think we're getting shafted in that deal, especially if they somehow turn around and deal Miller for Smith.
A funny thing about if the Orlando Magic used pieces from a trade with the Blazers to acquire Smith is that it's how the Hawks got Smith in the first place: it was a larger trade, but they got the 17th pick from Detroit in the Rasheed Wallace trade. Ed O.
