"Suns and Warriors have discussed trade scenarios in which Robin Lopez goes to Golden State and 11th pick plus (Ekpe) Udoh ends up with Phoenix" http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....riors-in-talks-to-land-robin-lopez-from-suns/ That's too much to give up for a guy who didn't look too much like starter material this past season. Udoh by himself, or the draft pick alone, I'm not sure I would even do.
What about Robin Lopez straight up for Epke Udoh? I don't think we'll really use Udoh at PF because we're dying for some depth at center. Actually, I'd rather still keep Udoh.
If Cleveland takes Irving, Is a Ellis for #2 to get Williams doable? What would have to happen cap wise as far as throw-ins to make it doable?
I'm not good with salary cap stuff, but here's a possibly relevant link: http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q44 I can't say for sure, but my gut tells me Monta for the number 2 straight up doesn't work.
Don't watch a lot of Robin Lopez but I wouldn't move Udoh for him. Udoh's a real difference maker on defense. I know Robin is a 7 footer but I bet Udoh is more of a presence and it doesn't seem that Lopez is better in any other category that would make him look more attractive than Udoh.
Thankls for the link, It looks like the pick counts for $4,420,900 in a trade from what I can tell. If that's the case, Minn would need to trade the pick and about 4 mil in players to make it work. They have like 5 players in that range. So Ridnour or Beasley and the #2 for Monta Works. That wouldn't be too bad of a move, IMO. The cap situation would immediately get better and you get bigger. The team could pick up a backup 2 (Thompson or Burks) at 11 and slide Wright to the 2, which would free up some cap room to go after someone like Nene.
I hope something like this happens. If it does exactly as you've laid out, I'd be happy! *Edit: Between Beasley or Ridnour, I'm partial to Beasley, if only to let the point guard depth be so that Jeremy Lin gets significant back up minutes. Ridnour takes care of any question marks with said depth however.
