I stopped reading when I got to #2. It's evident we're all going to die because of Coppertone...

I always look to affiliate landing pages to stay informed.

this is the problem with the internet, there is so much false information or information that can be manipulated to sell shit to you.

I guess what I think about when I see articles like that is if sun screens give us cancer and kill us off, why isn't everyone getting cancer, why isn't this widely reported and how is it hundreds of millions of people use these things for so long?

It's like vegans who tell me meat will kill me tomorrow if I keep eating it. Well, there have been thousands of meat eaters (and smokers and drinkers) who have lived to bee 100 and equally as many vegans who have died of cancer or other disease before age 30- so what does it really mean?

So like I said, once I got to #2 I stopped reading.

It's not like the FDA is rejecting all other sunscreens -- they're just requiring that the manufacturers prove that it does what they say it'll do. Run a trial, prove that it works and then you can market it. The want a free pass and (I think rightfully) the FDA is unwilling to give it.

Does that impact homeopathic herbs and remedies as well? Nutritional and performance supplements should fall under this same umbrella, shouldn't they?

After nearly 33 years of deliberation, the federal Food and Drug Administration has issued new sunscreen labeling rules. Unfortunately, they establish weak standards for UVA protection and do not address the use of hazardous ingredients.

Because the FDA has failed to offer good guidance to consumers on sunscreen safety, EWG has stepped in once again. Search our guide of more than 1,700 products and see how your favorite fares.

With skin cancer affecting millions of Americans every year, consumers should consider sunscreens as only a part of their overall sun protection routine. Check out EWG’s sun safety tips for sound advice.

Want to know the latest scientific conclusions about forms of vitamin A often found in sunscreens and other cosmetics? EWG scientists Sonya Lunder and Olga Naidenko, Ph.D., explain them in a new science review on EWG’s website: What Scientists Say About Vitamin A in Sunscreen.
