http://aeryssports.com/hockeytown-b...ick-eaves-drew-miller-to-contract-extensions/ As the NHL’s free agency kicked off on Friday afternoon, the Detroit Red Wings were sure to lock up two more players from last year’s roster to contract extensions. One day after re-signing defenseman Jonathan Ericsson, the Wings secured forwards Patrick Eaves and Drew Miller to extensions just before the noon deadline. Eaves signed a three-year deal worth $3.6 million after making $750,000 last season. He was considering the option of exploring the free agency market but ultimately decided to re-sign with Detroit. Miller signed a two-year deal worth $1.65 million. Miller feels that he is a valuable asset to the team and is eager to work his way up in the organization. “I think I’ll have an opportunity to play more minutes,” Miller told the media, “not only on the fourth line and the penalty kill but also on the third line and hopefully work my way up in the organization.”
