Anybody been to the state park and checked out all the falls? Want to take the family, but wondering if some are better then others. Also, my 10 and 6 year old will be hiking with us and wondering if some are easier to get to then others. Thanks!
Easy hike for kids to make, awesome collection of waterfalls and forest. The Oregon Garden is nearby but have not seen it yet.
Have you ever done hard time in Silverton? That's a real jail, not like some pussy "Multnomah County" jail for pampered kids. barfo
Yeah, I thought this would be about commodities. Good, because I would have had to fake some knowledge. First time for that ever.
...I grew up in Silverton. Your family should have a good time hiking around the falls. The old lodge used to serve up elephant ears, sno-cones, and other various "fair food". At the top of the main falls they have created a swim/park area that is usually filled with families during the summers.
I'll be camping there with family for 4 days over the last weekend of July. Heard it was an awesome area.
There are several different trails there with a variety of lengths and difficulty. Your kids should be fine. If you have time I would recommend one of the longer trails if your kids are up for it. They are less travelled and it's not very difficult, except for length. Be sure to pack some water and/or snacks if you take one of the longer trails. This park is one of my favorites in Oregon. The largest falls is very close and not very difficult to get to. You also get to hike behind the falls. Kids seem to like that. Also there is a lot of picnic/bbq areas there.
There are a ton of hiking trails around the Gorge, right around Multnomah Falls (which I don't really consider hiking.. it's too touristy). And it's closer than Silver Falls if you don't want to make the trek there to hike all the time.
Instead of going to Silver Falls, come to Klamath Falls! We have meth, and a black guy i played basketball against once!
It's been awhile since I've been there, but I remember it as being more of a nice walk than a nice hike.
Yes, he has his own exhibit, "John-John, Klamath Fall's only black guy". I guess that's not fair, i did go to the same high school as OIT legend Levell Hesia!
Yeah, it should be about perfect then. The main falls is close to the parking lot and it's got the part where you walk under the falls in easy walking distance.
