WBA Super World middleweight champion Felix Sturm (36-2-1, 15 KO’s) said in a press release that he’s leaving November 25th or 26th open for a rematch with Macklin. The fighters fought to a 12 round split decision on June 25th with Sturm winning the fight on two of the judges’ scorecards by the scores of 116-112 and 116-112, while the third judge had it 115-113 for Macklin. I had Sturm winning easily by at least four or more rounds.

He connected with the much harder shots and the cleaner punches throughout and finished the fight strong. Macklin was exhausted by the 8th and slapped in the last four rounds instead of throwing hard shots. Macklins’ fans made a huge fuss about the results afterwards, complaining that Macklin should have won and saying he was robbed in Germany. He wasn’t. Sturm won that fight and was the much superior fighter.
