I live about 8 blocks away from this business. Looks like he didn't have any security for this establishment and should have done something when that gun was left in the trash can and also the fights. Whenever I drove by, I never saw white/asian/hispanic people hanging outside. It was always black american.

"Thompson this afternoon said the police allegations aren't true, and he sought to clear his name. The name of his business, Seeznin's, is also Thompson's nickname. A good friend of his gave him the nickname because he said Thompson's personality had a lot of flavor."

"Seeznin's, Samuel Thompson, does not stand for any of this nonsense,'' Thompson said.
    Another problem at the Bar.
Why didn't the bar security ask the young men to leave the property? Its obvious that the bar didn't have any security.

They might have been black Canadians on vacation.

Thompson said the group of young men were denied access to his bar because they were 17, 18 and 19-year-olds - minors. He said one of his bartenders called gang outreach worker Tonya Dickens to alert her to the large group of young people outside the bar, and Dickens notified police. By the time police arrived, the young men were gone.

Thompson said Marin's shooting death "had absolutely nothing to do with here.''

Police failed to respond quickly, as is the norm in Portland, and now they seek to cast the blame elsewhere.

Refresh my memory- how long have you lived in Portland and how many times have you requested police assistance?

I lived in Portland proper (Hawthorne District) for about 3 years, born and raised in Lake Oswego, raised my kids in Milwaukie, and have resided in Beautiful Central Oregon for about a decade.

I requested Portland Police assistance in violent situations twice. Both times they showed up after about 15-30 minutes and then hung out at their cars for another 5-10, once despite the fact there was a fistfight and property damage going on when they arrived.

My general impression of them (Portland Police) is they are cowards and freeloaders on society. From the many incidents reported over the years I also believe a significant number of them are dangerously racist. I would never call them again if my life depended on it.

I have about 5 friends who are Portland Police Officers and I myself served as a Military Policeman for 4 years....... this statement offends me in many ways. There may be a few bad cops in every city, but they put there lives on the line and this is no way to think of them. Very sad!

There are many jobs in which people put their lives on the line every day. See that Discovery program about fishermen in Alaska, with their boats almost capsizing in the big waves? Do we worship them? They are well-paid, though.

The workers to worship are the ones lifting sledgehammers for minimum wage in the rain. I tried that for a day and it took a week for my muscles to recover and bones to work right again. I got the mud washed out of my clothes and shoes in only a couple of days, when I was finally able to get up.

Find a job to worship that doesn't involve overpaid government employees accumulating a pension and getting an annual vacation.

Just put a bullet in their fucking heads. They add nothing to society, and if caught they will only cost tax payers money.

I wonder if "black people" were used in the description of the people fighting that would determine if the cops showed up quicker or slower.

I was invited to Seeznin's a few months ago by a family member. Actually about 15 of us went, only 2 of us were males. That place is a death trap, literally. You walk in and the "gangsta side" is at the front of the building, walk down a narrow hallway to the back is where we were seated. However the back door was locked and barred windows, leaving only one way out of that place, which was through the front where all the gansta's were chillin and shooting dice. I was scared for the whole 15 minutes I spent there. Constantly watching my back. I had a beer and bid everyone a goodnight. Crazy. I'm surprised it's lasted this long honestly.

Sounds like a missed opportunity for the Oregon Lottery to get into dice shooting to me.
