Interesting, if not concerning... http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/06/28/wrong_marriage_debate_again_110384.html
That all may or may not be true. Let's let homosexuals marry and then we won't be distracted from other potential problems on that front. Ed O.
So you guys enjoy your bigoted articles thinly veiled? A) Just because not all gays are going to get married when given the option, doesn't mean we should deny all gays that right. B) The article's author says gay marriage is a distraction while at the same time trying to distract the reader with her own "crisis" that America is doomed because heterosexual marriages fail & create broken homes. This is incredibly shortsighted as the topic is complex & probably has only a tiny bit to do with marriage. C) Not sure what stopping unwed childbearing has to do with gay marriage. If anything it would help lessen the chances of unwed child bearing since you know, gays & lesbians could get married & wouldn't have to have kids outside of marriage. D) The article offers no solutions on how to improve marriage rates & lessen divorce rates. It is merely a jab against gay marriage, saying we focus too much time on it & that we need to refocus our attention to heterosexual marriage, but never explicitly goes into what we need to focus on within heterosexual marriage. E) Marriage actually means very little. It's a piece of paper with certain government sanctioned benefits. It's a contract between two people who can break it off at anytime. The strength of a person's relationship depends on their compatibility with each other & not on the fact that they are married. I personally don't believe in marriage, but if the heteros can do it, why not the gays.
God, Guns and Gays. Three subjects that have no effect on the economy, social security, debt celling, global finanical melt down, or pretty much anything else relevant to the state of our governement. They sure do provide a good distraction though.
