Light welterweight Paul McCloskey (22-1, 12 KO’s) could be facing Colombian knockout artist Breidis Prescott (24-2, 19 KO’s) in McCloskey’s next fight on September 10th at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Dan Rafael reports on his twitter page that this fight is a possibility for McCloskey’s next bout. This would be a hugely dangerous fight for McCloskey because he looked pretty ordinary in his recent 6th round technical decision loss to WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan last April. The fight ended with McCloskey getting cut above McCloskey’s left eye from a clash of heads with Khan. The referee, for some reason, pulled the plug on the fight for a tiny cut and never even gave McCloskey’s corner a chance to try and stop the cut. McCloskey, naturally, asked Khan to give him a rematch but Khan said that the only way he would fight McCloskey again is if he fought and beat every fighter that Khan has beaten during his career.
