Six Dayton area wrestlers participated in "The Ultimate Ironman Match" in November 2010 to achieve their goal of breaking the Guiness World Record for the longest Pro-wrestling match.

The six men wrestled for a total of 12 hours, breaking the previous record of 11 1/2 hours set in the early 1900's.

On July 12, the wrestlers were informed that they officially achieved their goal. Tim Lutz, Mark Easterday, Michael White, Logan Jones,
Brandon Overholser, and Tom Crone now hold the Guiness World record for longest wrestling match.

6 guys powdering for 12 hours is hardly a feat. The REAL record for longest pro wrestling match belongs to Nathan "Jaysin Strife" Blogette and Mike "Rockstar Cordova" Inman. 1 on 1 for 7 hours. When these guys do a 1 on 1 match for 8 hours then they can say something. In my opinions this match was 6 guys playing wrestling in their backyard for 12 hours.

Actually, the match your mentioning is not a verified world record (the two guys in the 7 hour match). I checked with Guinness.
In the rules those gentlemen (the 6 from Dayton) were sent they were told the match itself could contain anywhere from 2 to 10 people.
It also was not in anyones backyard. Per the Guinness guidelines sent to the guys, it was put on by a legitimate promotion in conjunction with a show.

If you want to bash the wrestlers themselves, keep in mind they had to send enough evidence to Guinness showing the match itself and that they followed the rules that Guinness had set for them. I hardly think if they had been powdering or 'playing wrestling' for 12 hours Guinness would have given them record.
