I think they dropped the ball there. HHH comes in at the end and basically tells Vince the 'board' voted no confidence because of the things he's been doing "lately"? And he was removed from his position and HHH is now "in charge". Seemed kind of anti-climatic (and way too scripted). I was hoping for CM Punk to at least make an appearance via satellite. This smelled of a rushed thing, especially with Cena not being fired (although his vague reference to TNA was kind of cool).
yeah, it was kind of lame, but we will see where it goes. I like that CM punk wasn't on because they need to sell that angle. I hope CM Punk makes public (non-WWE) appearances with the title to generate some buzz for the angle. It has clearly worked great as a storyline, so I think they should spend some more time selling the fact that he has the title and isn't on the roster.
I actually didn't mind the angle, and I actually thought the timing made sense. I mean, Vince was about the "fire" his company's biggest star. He also supposedly wasn't able to resign Punk, and then almost denied the WWE universe what was apparently a fantastic match (haven't watched the entire PPV yet). So with everything that's gone on, I think the angle works perfectly fine.
