Sports Betting Overview If Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen were dead, he would be turning over in his grave at the way the White Sox have been playing lately. Unfortunately for the White Sox players, Guillen is very much alive and still very angry. If you bet on MLB baseball, then you probably know that the AL Central is one of the worst divisions in baseball. All but one team is involved in the pennant race. But it does not look like any team wants to become dominant. Just as a team starts to pull away in the standings, it starts to lose and brings itself back to the rest of the pack. The MLB baseball news headlines keep saying that the AL Central is up for grabs. All it would take is one team to decide they want it. The Cleveland Indians have been battling closely with the Detroit Tigers for weeks now to see who will be the outright leader in the AL Central. In the first two months of the season, it looked like Cleveland would be that team that would run away with the AL Central. But the Indians hit a stretch of rough MLB scores and watched their large lead dwindle to only the current half-game margin. Cleveland’s pitching and hitting seemed to leave the team all at the same time. Now Cleveland is struggling to put together winning streaks to hold on to their lead. It looked like the Detroit Tigers might run away with the AL Central just a month ago. But that AL Central curse brought Detroit back to Earth and now Cleveland is trying to take advantage of it. Chicago White Sox While the other teams in the AL Central were losing, the White Sox were losing as well. In the last 10 games, the White Sox have lost six which includes a two-game losing streak. The White Sox send Edwin Jackson to the mound to try and take this game from the division leaders, and he may be up to the task. Jackson’s last start was a complete game shut-out of the Detroit Tigers. Jackson seems to have problems with other division leaders, but he pitches well against the other teams in the AL Central. Jackson gives Chicago a good chance to win so long as Chicago does not make mental mistakes in the field or at the plate. Cleveland Indians The Indians bring up David Huff to start this game in place of the injured Mitch Talbot. Huff’s only appearance this season was a seven-inning masterpiece against the Minnesota Twins where he allowed no runs on only five hits. Huff does put the ball in play, but the Cleveland defense has been playing well and should be able to respond. The Indians are still trying to groom Huff into a starting pitcher, but he has not shown an ability to maintain consistency when in the rotation. On one-off games here and there, he can be effective. The Bottom Line The White Sox make a lot of mental errors that cost them games. The Indians are playing behind a pitcher that they have a lot of faith in. The Indians should be able to make contact against Edwin Jackson and bring home the win. Pick: Cleveland Indians
