Israel is backed into a corner. They've lost their cover with us, so they're acting in their own self-interest, world be damned. We could live with the reality of Iran getting nuclear weapons, Israel cannot. How much do you want to bet this is a message directed at us from Israel at how desperate they are? "We're serious. If you don't do something our next step will be to bomb the facilities."
I don't want Iran to have nukes but you can understand why they are working so hard to get them. We've invaded countries on either side of them.
