I have always used dishwashers in the past and refuse to do handwashing unless its pots or pans. If I have a good dishwasher I will put the pants/pots in the machine. However, in my apartment, the water runs super hot so the setting on my water heater must be high. I have no fear of my dishes not being cleaned as I always rinse them off before I put them in the dishwasher. My ex whom I dated for 8 months never used dishwashers and never trusted them. I always thought that was a little weird. My new gf has no fear of dishwashers or is neither OCD.

I don't believe Consumer Reports too much but I guess there is more Energy Efficient ratings out there, for lessor use of water, on washing machines, etc.
I hate low flow toilets because you are afraid of it clogging up because there's not enough water "suckage" to pull everything down for a number #2. So in this case are "energy efficient" appliances really necessary or do we have to run our dishwasher twice to get the job done?

P.S. I hate automatic toilets, because I swear they flush between 3-4 times when I use them or my kids. What a waste of water and efficiency.

Big thick jeans smell so sweet afterward.

In choosing to do it on your toilet vs. on your kids, use the option that wastes the least water.

We call it the dish steralizer because the dishes are pretty much clean when they go it. Hand wash pots and pans.

This but if I did have a dishwasher I'd just rinse quickly and throw them in the dishwasher.

To this day I don't understand why my parents required me to basically wash the dish completely by hand and then put it in the dishwasher too.

Same over here. I get laughed at about it. Maybe I grew up with an old dishwasher or something, because I never believe they actually can clean the dishes completely.

where is the...man are we this desperate for topics vote option?

I hand wash some stuff (like knives with wooden handles), pre-rinse visibly dirty plates and such, and stick the rest directly into the dishwasher. Sometimes I put a baseball cap in their too

I also put yogurt containers or aluminum cans (refried beans, etc) in the dishwasher before I put them in the recyclables.

I've run computer cases, different tools, fan blades, light fixtures, all sorts of chit through the dishwasher. Good quality detergent with that Jet Dry stuff and you wouldn't believe what a dishwasher gets clean.

yeah, i ran a K&N cone air filter in the dishwasher before. I didn't run the machine with any other plates, etc, just the cone itself.
