This is not thumbs up and 37 exclamation points news until we know who is replacing him. I know folks are obsessed with Klinsmann, but I think his actual coaching skill level is closer to the disappointment at Bayern than the heights he reached with Germany. Its possible that Jogi Loew was the mastermind behind the Klismann run. Klinsmann has rejected the job in the past because he wanted a technical director role where he could dictate the US Soccer program on the pitch at all levels. I think someone needs to be in that role so that all of the youth programs in the nation are on board with developing players for the national team and not short term goals, but I'm not sure that Klinsmann is the guy to do that. Other rumors are the ever present Guus Hiddink role (currently in Turkey) and Carlo Ancelotti. Marco Bielsa was rumored for the TD job and would have been a personal favorite for this job, but he is coaching Costa Rica. Jason Kreis is the leading American candidate. I like Kreis, but he needs more time in MLS before he can move into the national team.

Bob Bradley to interview to be Egypt manager Former US boss "first choice" to take over seven-time African champs AMSTERDAM — Recently released US national team manager Bob Bradley is set to interview for the vacant Egypt job this week, MLSsoccer.com has confirmed. On Sunday night, Egyptian paper Al-Ahram reported that Bradley would be in competition with former Montenegro manager Zoran Filipović and former Trinidad and Tobago coach Francisco Maturana. However, an Egyptian federation spokesman indicated to MLSsoccer.com that the American was their first choice. "The president of the federation will meet with the coach this week," Egypt's national team press officer Azmi Megahed told MLSsoccer.com on Monday. "He is maybe the top contender."
