http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2508889Sorry if this topic already exists but I didn't see it anywhere. I like this trade as it gives Chicago an excellent backup SG while not taking away their depth in the frontcourt. It helps the Hornets because Chandler is younger and better than Brown, and things just weren't working out between Byron Scott and JR Smith.

Because it hasn't gone through yet. I'll change it to possibly. That makes more sense. woops, doesn't look like you can change topic titles. That sucks.

The Bulls should just keep Tyson Chandler. They don't need JR Smith and PJ Brown is a nice player but he's aging.

I dont think Brown and Smith are the right fits, as Brown doesnt provide much scoring either, and Smith is a nutshell, and they already have Thabo and Ben Gordon, and also Kirk spends some time at the 2 as well..I think they need to go after Boozer if they are gonna trade Chandler. I dont know how much the Jazz want Boozer. Maybe Chandler + pick..?

Well I read another rumor that they'd trade PJ Brown to the Hawks in a sign and trade for Al Harrington. Not sure if it's true or not but that would give them some more scoring. They then could package a combination of players like Smith, Deng, or Nocioni for a guy that scores in the post.

I like this move by the Hornets. They would have a good looking team;C: Tyson ChandlerPF: David WestSF: Peja StojakovicSG: Kirk Snyder/Rasual ButlerPG: Chris PaulThey would still need some bench help, even though they have Simmons and Armstrong and a better 2 Guard, but with those two things added I think that the Hornets will make the playoffs.

This would be a huge salary dump for Chicago in getting rid of Chandler, completly forgot about his $50 million still left on his deal.

hornets fans must hate this trade. why would you want a weak center when you have a solid one. and even worse also trade a young guy also whom you could probably get something better from a gm that thinks jr would be better somewhere else. and chandler has 50 mil left????? no way

Whose their solid center? PJ Brown? That explains why they drafted two potential centers in the draft and are about make this trade. They need a center, Brown is more of a bruiser power forward then center. In these days, Chandler fits the mode of the quicker athletic centers. The contract sucks but they just gave Peja and Bjax some big deals, so their payroll is over anyways.

They should have just kept Steven Hunter, he is obviously healthy and they got a steal of a deal for him. He went back to Philly and took the starting spot away from Dalembert. But if they can do this trade for Chandler go for it. It will give them a good blend of vet's and young players.Chandler/ArmstongWest/SimmonsPeja/Johnson(played very well)Synder/MasonPaul/BJaxThey also have Vinicius who could be very good. Brandon Bass can be a solid role player. This trade would really clean their roster up. They also have Butler(who I have heard won't resign) and Aaron Williams coming off the books. I believe also Vroman who they waived deal is up. If they could get this done they get rid of Smith who obviously for some reason has no future in NO and trade Brown(who can contribute but is 37) for a decent young, athletic, defensive minded center who would be a perfect frontcourt mate for West.

Wasn't it Hunter's fault they didn't get him though, because he failed his physical and the trade got rescinded.

The trade could have went through it was up to the Hornets.
