A Knox County court has dismissed charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct against Tennessee senior linebacker Austin Johnson.

The 22-year-old Hickory, N.C., native was arrested in the early hours of July 24 after he was spotted trying to start a fight and hitting cars in a parking lot behind a Knoxville bar.

According to Knox County General Sessions Court records, the charges against him were dismissed Thursday morning. He will be required to pay an unknown amount of court costs.

Johnson said Tuesday that he was extremely embarrassed about his actions and arrest.

"I should have never put myself in that situation," Johnson said, according to The Tennessean of Nashville. "I should have never been out that late . . . I embarrassed my team, I embarrassed the fans, I embarrassed my family and I embarrassed my coaches. I've learned from my mistakes.

"I plan to move forward and become a better person from this."
