I appreciate the comments, and yes, I am very proud. He is a very good kid who places an emphasis on good form and playing in time.

His big problem is that he really can't stand to be around cigarette smoke or too close to people who have smoked :) Maybe he'll grow out of it :dunno: I'll worry about it much later.

That sort of reminds of when my friend got "punished" a few years back.

His dad found his almost full packet of cigarettes in his jacket. He made him sit down and smoke every single cigarette in the pack. He hasn't smoked since.

2 years later, he's now 14 and starting his second year of college music theory courses (3.97 gpa). He wants to become the best guitar player in the world. Here's 3 very short videos for your lockout hangover:

See if you can get him to meet Dan Balmer if you haven't already.

He has once a month lessons with Dan Balmer. BTW, Dan had a funny quote: "Your parents didn't pay
me to tell you how good you are." He's a fantastic guitarist and has given Dale a lot of jazz stuff to work
on - it'll take him a long time. For example, you don't learn sight reading guitar music over night.

I haven't talked to Dan in years, but I used to know him pretty well. A couple of my friends played in bands with him many years ago and I would go watch them. He's a tremendous guitarist and I can't think of a better teacher for your son!
