I've started hearing/reading sportsblatherings about how much bigger LSU is then Oregon in the trenches. To get an idea of whats really what I crunched some #s this morning based on the weights of guys sitting atop their depth chart. The weights I used were from the official websites of each school. OLines OT- OG -C -OG - OT Ore- 325 275 270 292 302 Average = 293 w/ 1 Soph, 1 Jr, 3 Srs LSU- 316 295 300 303 329 Average = 304 w/ 1 Soph, 2 Jrs, 2 Srs From what I'm reading it's likely 270 pound C Karrington Armstrong will be beaten out by 305 lb. Hamani Stevens which would push the Duck average up to 300 DLines DE- DT- DT- DE Ore- 265 300 321 240 Average = 282 w/ 2 Sophs, 2 Srs. LSU- 245 286 300 265 Average = 274 w/ 1 RFreshman, 2 Sophs, 1 Jr. Oregon's offensive line (with Armstrong) enjoys a 19 pound size advantage on LSU's DLine, while LSU has a 22 pound advantage going the other way. If Stevens wins the Center spot as expected, Oregon will enjoy a 26 pound advantage on LSU's DLine. Regardless these teams are pretty close size wise. Both are comparable class/age-wise too even when you look at the 2 deep rotations. STOMP
below is a link to the best site I know of for understanding who plays where and how the depth chart currently stands for the Ducks. Scrolling over the names pops up a quicky bio of the player. Clicking on them brings you to their listing on GODUCKS.com (Oregon's official site). You can also quickly query the entire roster for things like what their star rating was coming out of HS from each of the various recruiting sites http://web.nmsu.edu/~ogden/oregon/depth2011.htm btw, several of the Ducks have put on some weight including... lol Goducks must have just done a weight update in the last 24 hours or so. I'd written down the weights of Oregon's lines for compiling this post yesterday morning and got to the LSU end of things today. I just saw a thread on rivals talking about guys who changed so here's a copy and past of that post... RB - James(195), Barner(195), Seastrunk(190) & De'Anthony(173) DT - Heimuli(321), Keliikipi(300) & Hart(283) DE - Turner(265), Jordan(240), Washington(262) OC - Grasu(291), Armstrong(270) & Stevens(305) LB - Lokombo(232), Alonso(240) & Wallace(235) OL - Asper(325), Golpashin(275), York(292) & Weems(302) OL - backups: Cody(301), Clanton(300) & Benyard(325) OL - fr: Euscher(295),Prater(290),Andre Y.(285),Fisher(285),Johnstone(275) so I'll update my first post reflecting these changes. Now watch LSU update theirs tomorrow STOMP
Several players put on some beef: Isaac Remington is now 286 Kenjon Barner reflects a 15# gain Wade Keliikipi now over 300lbs.
Mosely article on this mentioning many others like incoming OLine freshman Johnstone and Yruretagoyena both gaining 25 pounds since the spring. It seems like all the true freshman packed on a few http://www2.registerguard.com/cms/i...s/notable-weight-changes-from-spring-to-fall/ STOMP
