I think having or not having money can easily effect one's outlook on life and personality- but only in general terms.
In other words, rich people are more likely to think about themselves. “They think that economic success and political outcomes, and personal outcomes, have to do with individual behavior, a good work ethic,” said Keltner, a professor of psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. Because the rich gloss over the ways family connections, money and education helped, they come to denigrate the role of government and vigorously oppose taxes to fund it. There is one interesting piece of evidence showing that many rich people may not be selfish as much as willfully clueless, and therefore unable to make the cognitive link between need and resources. Last year, research at Duke and Harvard universities showed that regardless of political affiliation or income, Americans tended to think wealth distribution ought to be more equal. The problem? Rich people wrongly believed it already was. This mirrors my many experiences with the uber-wealthy throughout my life. Even the ones I liked had little concern for others who were less fortunate. It arose out of arrogance for many, but also out of ignorance as most rich people have very little actual life experience of any kind, They are so completely sheltered from birth to death they might as well live in a bubble. The end result is they are pretty boring to have as friends and even more useless to debate current events with.
Those who are up to the challenge, intellectually speaking. Most of my friends enjoy it. What do your friends talk about, their most recent hangover or their high score on a video game?
Who mentioned anything about Washington? Very little ever happens there, and none of it is current. Life = Current events
Amusing that you took the time to look up my posts. However, they are replies to posts about old, worn-out topics that the right-wing can't seem to let go of. Certainly not current events, which is what we're talking about now. You must be wealthy.
Yeah, it did take all of 15 seconds. Yes, 3 months ago is an eternity. You've totally moved on from blaming and talking about Bush. Calling out ridiculousness and inconsistency has nothing to do with class.
