How is CK planning on keeping everyone happy?

Obviously LMJ will start with Barner backing him up. How will Seastrunk work into the rotation? Will DAT redshirt? I'm just hoping CK can keep them happy because I would hate to see Seastrunk or DAT transfer.

James is gone next year and Barner cant carry the load that LMJ can. I honestly see about 20-25 carries for Lamichael 8-10 for Kenjon and That still leaves some to be split for Lache and DeAnthony.

Even true freshman like J-Stew paid dues as a Freshman carry and played on special teams.

Looking at 2005 Stats J-Stew was the 3rd leading rusher with only about 5 carries per game. But he did a lot on special teams.

Thats hard to tell at this point without seeing how Lache has progressed with his grasp of the playbook (which reports say he had trouble with last year) and how he handles being in a real game. From a purely physical standpoint where you take into account Lache's God given (or evolution given) talents, no question Lache would start (not a slap at all in Kenjon's face) But even if Kenjon started, there would be quite a bit of carries to be had. I imagine Barner topped out at 15 Carries per game in his peak (not touches mind you, but carries)

But don't you think he would have been capable of more than 15 carries? The guy has talent and he showed it at times last season.

are you referring to Barner? Sorry not entirely sure. If so, its not Talent, its more what I think his body can take. (Being hit 15 times from the carries, and whatever he gets on returns and catches)

Kenyon is a talented RB no doubt, but according to him both Lache and D'AT are faster. Who gets the opportunities is more about whats best for the team's chances of winning then appeasing a single player. I'd site the QB competition last season as an example of this.

    A couple thoughts...

Oregon runs such an up-tempo offense and rotates so many players, all these guys are going to be involved. Oregon's unique triple-quad option formations sees what some are calling back and forward slash formations. RB's will see split, flanker, slot - who knows, even wishbone and power formations this year.

It's a deep roster and those who perform and "keep their head in the game" with the fast pace and rotations will be rewarded.

With Barner, he has put on some mass and will get his due. LMJ was not exempt from dings and rests last season. I don't see Barner losing #2. Last season the guy saw 91 touches for 551 yards. Not to shabby YPC. He also had 2 TD rec.

Didn't Barner get like 200+ of that in the first game of the year.

That's a good point. The Ducks offense allows for a lot of guys to get a few plays under their belt.

Good point, H. Some people forget just how many games KB missed and how serious his injury was last season.

    Game 1:

    Kenjon Barner RB
    17 Rush, 147 yds
    4 TDs
    1 Rec, 60 yds, 1 TD

Barner missed some games because of a concussion in the WSU game right?

Yes, I can't recall exactly how many - possibly five. It was a severe injury.
I believe Barner has avg over 6 yards a carry for two seasons in a row now.
