Day five: Ricky Heimuli returned to practice. Avery Patterson, Christian French, Colt Lyerla and Tra Carson are also back in the mix. Great to have these guys back in the mix.

    Full pads now, boys.

Tuinei and De'Anthony Thomas are reported to be looking sharp, very sharp. Quick, soft hands and sharp routes. Just a deep and talented group of kids.

Bryan Bennett is progressing well - and that's a good insurance policy for a team who relies so much on the QB. Thomas was incredibly durable last year considering the amount of hits and runs he saw.

It's great to be a Duck.....

So are they actually going to use DAT this year? How about Colt and French? That would be pretty amazing if we had three true freshman on the team.

I'll be surprised if French isn't redshirted as he's the 5th TE behind Paulson, Teague, White & Lyerla (who of course has a head start on him since he enrolled early). I read his HS team ran the ball like 90% of the time and there is undoubtedly a pretty huge amount of new info for him to absorb in a short time. That said, he's as big and probably faster then Colt and thats no small feet. If he sees the field this season it will be on mostly special teams. He might be my favorite recruit of the last cycle, but I wish he'd set his sites on D
