Chicago Bears defensive end Corey Wootton could miss four weeks with cartilage damage in his right knee, a league source confirmed Sunday night. The Chicago Tribune first reported the extent of Wootton's injury. Wootton hurt the knee covering the opening kickoff of the Bears 10-3 preseason victory over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night. He was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game. The belief is Wootton might be healed in time to return for the Bears regular-season opener Sept. 11 against the Atlanta Falcons.
