Nazr Mohammed...dun dun. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Free agent center Nazr Mohammed of the Spurs has agreed to a deal with the Detroit Pistons, ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher is reporting. Terms were unavailable. Mohammed replaces Ben Wallace, who told the team Monday that he was leaving to join the Chicago Bulls. Wallace, who agreed to a four-year, $60 million deal with Chicago, helped Detroit advance to four straight conference finals -- the first team to do so since the Bulls of the early 1990s. Mohammed played in 80 games for San Antonio last season, averaging 6.2 points and 5.2 rebounds.</div> Nice pickup after losing Ben. The question now is who is the Spurs center?
Well hey, it is a pretty good signing. No other really good centers left on the market. Now they have McDyess and Nazr playing Center. They should still get a top 6 seed atleast.

nice signing by the pistons. He won't be able to do what Ben did obviously but he will get the job done for detroit.
YES! This is one of the guys that I wanted to fill Bens void. I think we have also made an offer to Joel Pryzbilla, so with those two we would have a good center combo. This could turn out to be another great signing by Joe D.
This move will be good, if they didn't pay an arm and a leg for him. I think the Spurs will probably go after Joe Pryzibilla (sp?). The guy that played for the Blazers.
id rather have przybilla on the pistons. cuz hes a defensive and rebounding guy. nazr is an offensive rebounding no IQ nut...

Nice signing, I like it a lot. People forget Nazr is actually a pretty good player. He played excellent in Atlanta and New York, but he had to share minutes with Nesterovic and Duncan in San Antonio. He will be a nice addition to the Pistons. They didn't overpay him either. You know what's funny, didn't Jerome James get this same deal from Isiah last year? :HAHAHA:

If they're paying him $10 mill a year or something like that it's too much for what he brings to the table. I'm guessing they probably got a more reasonable deal around 5-7 million per season. Like you said the terms aren't disclosed so we don't know for sure yet.
Like I said now 2 dynastys are ended. Nazr is better on O so expect a good amound of regular season wins probably atleast 50.
I dont know why the Spurs are just handing their Centers away like tis a freaking lemonade stand. Now they have a problem. They need to sign Joel P or else they will have NO ONE at center except Fabrico Ohberto, but he is a very poor player
I think Nazr is the better fit in Detroit. Joel is not a transition player, and while Nazr is certainly no offensive juggernaut, he can get up and down the floor with the rest of the Pistons in Flip Saunders' system. With a shot blocking presence still there, I don't think losing Ben will hurt as much as it may seem.
Nazr is an ok player but the Pistons chances of winning a championship now since they lost their DPOY player and now they are weak at center defensively.
First of all, the spurs are pursuing Pryz very hard and since Nazr left, this would make him want to come to the Spurs even more. Also guys, you know how the Spurs draft foreigners every freaking year, well they are bringing over one of thier centers that they drafted a few years ago. He got in a motorcyle wreck but before that he an amazing player. I cant think of his name right now but im pretty sure there are some vids on him in the spurs section
I like Nazr a lot but it's still a step down from Big Ben. I still don't see them making any noise in the Eastern Conference anymore. Their bench was terrible last year and it's just getting older. McDyess was just average and with those knees he's now going to be 32. Lindsey Hunter averaged 2 points and will be 36. Evans and Delfino just aren't very good. There aren't even anymore good FA's to give them another solid bench option. They still should get a decent seed in the playoffs and maybe go to the next round. The competition in the East, past the first couple of teams, is just BAD.
Eh, it was an okay signing, but obviously it wont fill the role of Big Ben. But I dont think Joey D is looking to do that either, the players he has now still can contribute, and I'm talking about Billups, Hamilton, Prince, and 'Sheed. They just need some younger players. Nazr isnt young, but he'll get the job done, as other people have mentioned. They could have made a deal for Tyson Chandler or someone like that, he's a young, defensive-minded center.
