if there even is a season. Time to go home Rudy. http://www.iamagm.com/news/2011/08/...act.real.madrid.will.return.mavericks.2011.12
Eurobasket says he signed. HoopsHype says he hasn't but probably will this week. Either way, he will play some Maverick games if the lockout ends before the end of the 2011-12 season. http://eye-on-basketball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/31329653
Wait!! I thought Portland got fleeced and that Rooty Tooty was going to be the starter in Dallas for the rest of the decade?
And if he plays well, Cuban will have no problem with buying out his contract, which may even have a clause in it for just that purpose.
I hadn't thought of that. Cuban of all people might do that. It's sad because unlike Sergio, Rudy got the perfect post-Blazer setup. The champ team needs a starting SG. Sergio walked into surging guard depth in Sacramento. But in Dallas, they expected Rudy to start. It may take Rudy a couple of years to shake off McMillan's prison system from inside his head. He has to relearn how to be free as a bird.
NBA teams can only contribute $500k towards a buyout, so unless Rudy's new contract has him making $125k per year Cuban won't be able to buy him out.
