Re: Welcome Nazr! Pistons signed Free Agent center Nazr Mohammed today ESPN's Ric Bucher reports. Good job by Joe D to so quickly find a replacement for Ben. I know he won't be as effective, but I am excited for the signing.
Re: Welcome Nazr! I think this is a better signing than if it was Pryzbilla, not to mention Nazr has championship experience against us when he was w/ the Spurs. I still think the Pistons should of attempted to pursue Chris Wilcox, maybe Joe D has that in mind. If they signed Wilcox it would offset Big Ben w/ 2 players. In reality I think Joe D has turned his attention to Bonzi Wells, well at least I hope he has because sooner or later we will see he signed w/ someone other team. HoLLa baCk
Re: Welcome Nazr! i'd rather have Pryzbilla a defensive minded rebounding guyNazr has little bball IQ, but he does get lots of offensive rebounds.

Could this mean that Przybilla declined the Pistions offer, meaning he wills sign with the Spurs? I hope so! Nazr has always been underated, I think this will be a nice chance for him to show his skills on a higher scale.
Re: Welcome Nazr! Why? You have Yao Ming at Center. I dont think it really matters who you have behind Yao lol. He should stay healthy next year too.

Re: Welcome Nazr! It wasn't an OK pickup. It was the best possible pickup at this point. Nazr was the best Center left on the market..
Re: Welcome Nazr! Pistons got a respectable center but his weakness is defense. We'll see how much worse Detroit gets defensively but Ben wasn't exactly a defensive force last year in the playoffs. Especially since he had to guard Shaq.
Re: Welcome Nazr! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Fabolous @ Jul 4 2006, 06:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>no Pryzbilla is.</div>I dont know. I think Nazr is more talented. Lets not forget that he averaged 11 and 8 in 2004-05 with the Knicks. Przybiulla averages 6 and 7. Modest numbers. I would rather Nazr because if given the minutes, he can dontribute as a decent starter. But he just didnt get the minutes in SA.
Re: Welcome Nazr! Losing Big Ben hurts, getting Nazr feels a little better.Losing Speedy Claxton hurts too, resigning Lindsey Hunter feels a little better again. But you have to wonder, what is Joe Dumars thinking? He isn't just going to stand pat. He's going to make a splash this off season. Perhaps Wilcox? Best Case Scenario in my opinion with Chris.
Re: Welcome Nazr! Why the hell would Speedy Claxton want to back up CHauncey Billups, and play 10 minutes a game? Were you really surprised that he took the starter job in Atlanta instead?

Although I agree I am not suprised he took a starting job.

If he could play the combo guard, both SG and PG then he would be a good fit. I think he wanted to start plus the extra money over playing for a contender, I never thought he would come to Detroit either.

Re: Welcome Nazr! I think Dumars said that he would only make a big trade if Ben didnt resign. Well Ben didnt resign so im hoping to see joe unload Rasheed and go younger and just end the Wallace era in detroit all together. We need a superstar on the team. I would love to see a superstar post player. but i doubt that will happen and we will have to be stuck with a lineup like this Pg- Billups, SG- Rip, Sf- Tay Pf- Dyess C-Wallace 6th man- Nazr
Re: Welcome Nazr! You should do a 3 team trade and get Chandler from the Bulls, and a Center as well who can score from another team, and unload Rasheed and I don't know, some other player.
