What is the best way to keep track of your calorie intake? I have no idea how many calories are in a tuna sandwhich.
Weigh yourself regularly. If you are careful not to do any exercise, you'll be able to compute the calories you consumed from the weight gain. barfo
Well it is pretty complicated. Put the food in a metal cup submerged in water and measure temperature in °C. This is T initial. You have to burn the sandwich in a metal cup to get T final. Measure the mass of the water in grams, multiplied by 4.18 Joules/g°C, multiplied by delta T. To summarize: q=Masswater x specific heatwater x ΔTwater (q=Heat in calories or joules) (T=temperature) (ΔTwater=Tfinal-Tinitial) (spefic heat of water= 4.18 J/g °C) (Masswater = Mass of water in box - mass of box w/o water) (joules to calore conversion 1 calorie=4.184 Joules) Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_scientists_determine_how_many_calories_a_food_has#ixzz1VKTFBYjM So make sure you burn the whole sandwich first, then you'll know everything. :O
Seriously, though, check out MyFitnessPal.com. It'll set you up with a great way to track all the food you eat, how many calories are in that food, how many calories you need to cut to lose weight, etc.
Thats actually great advice! Thanks for that and repped! Oh and also yes myfitness pal is AWESOME I have that on my Iphone and it breaks everything down for you. And tells you how many calories you have left etc. Keep up the good work Mook!
