It seems the Celtics are cooling off talks with Philly and may stick with the youth movement. I hope they do...http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/vi...rticleid=146821
So they're gonna stay young, I'd say that's a good decision. Where does Pierce stand in all of this though?

I mean he WANTS to win in Boston, and he's still in his prime, and he's been great with the kids. But at the end of the day, the guy just wants to win. Moving Pierce, in my opinion, would crush me but it would be best for both worlds (if we stay young) because Pierce can win while our youth gets more playing time and touches. And learns by their own mistakes, not by watching Pierce light it up.And either way, like I said before, this means nothing really. All it means to me is that we aren't going to pull the trigger for the Sixers' current asking price. They probably are asking for too much young talent in return. I am expecting talks to re-amp around the 12th when other teams can become involved.
I dont think this would be a smart move if they just stopped pursuing AI. Even if they keep this young group, they are going to develope the same time that the Bulls players develope and the Bulls young core is better than the Celtics. If they got AI now, they would have a decent chance to make a run at the ECF. I dont see them making it to the finals even if they do sit on this young core.I guess that whatever they do wont be too bad of a decision. I am netural
Yeah, Balla posted somewhere that Ainge said that the deal was a silly rumour and that it wont be happening. I dont think Philly would have been interested either. They wouldnt give up AI unless they got someone really solid in return.

So they think they would be getting someone solid in return, if the talks have been pretty serious for a while now..

(sarcasm)I can tell you one thing I don't think Pierce will be staying in Boston if he thinks that team can't win. And that team can't win the way they are now atleast. Boston can become a good team by getting AI they will make the playoffs, and maybe another nice move after that would make them a contender. They need a big men in side I think. I don't pay attention to Boston unless they play the Sixers usually so not to sure.Hey as a Sixer fan it's good if Boston does not get him, but Boston fans should be happy if they get AI not be saying I hope they don't get him.

I would rather have a bright future then just simply make the playoffs now. AI isn't gonna get them a championship, and he is getting past his prime. I would rather have the young talent.
I'd be surprised if the roseter stay the same until next year. I think we'll almost have to try and get Pierce a viable second option. I'm sure we have interest in players like Lamar Odom, Rashard Lewis, and then the stars. Either that, or (knock on wood) Pierce will want out and we blow up the roster.
This is a good move for Boston. They had a decent draft and sticking with what they have isnt a bad idea. Although AI would be a good add-on to the team, they can live without him.

You got Miami, NJ, Chicago, DET, Clevland, Washington, Orlando should make the playoffs next year, the Bucks, ect.............And no AI won't get them a title not saying he will just with Pierce. But then if you add a big guy in side some how by trade, or w/e you be able to contend.
