    Crap! It's not looking good......

Public information officer Sgt. Don Stone said warrants can't be issued until police are ready to make an arrest and that warrants will be issued "at the conclusion of the investigation, which could be this week, could be a week from now or could be in two weeks. It may come to that."

The players - quarterback Jordan Jefferson, offensive tackle Chris Davenport, linebacker Josh Johns and wide receiver Jarvis Landry - and their attorney, Nathan Fisher, are supposed to meet with police but the meeting had not been scheduled as of 6 p.m. Monday.

"Charges have already been filed," Stone said. "Once we initiate the investigation and speak to the victims and they indicate they want us to pursue a complaint, charges are filed."

Four men were injured in the fight and treated afterward at local hospitals. The four have retained local attorney Michael Bienvenu and are pressing charges.

"We would not be conducting this investigation if somebody didn't want us to," Stone said. "When we conclude our investigation, we will secure arrest warrants for those people that we determine are responsible, arrest them and then bring them in and place them in the parish prison .

"If the players never come in and talk to us, we will continue our investigation without talking to them. If the evidence support the allegations, warrants will be issued for their arrests and we'll arrest them whether they come to speak to us or not."

The flap-jack flipped, and is now praising Oregon. Here's my take. Thomas, to my knowledge (and correct me if I'm wrong) has NEVER been cited on these offenses. He's been around guys who probably were smoking weed and he's been around street racing and fast driving. Ok. But, he's never been at fault. So, what's to say he ISN'T being a leader and being a good example to his friends and NOT smoking pot when he's around them?

I was friends with a lot of different people in HS and college. Still am... Some smoked. I didn't. But, I saw past that stuff and was a good friend. I had fun with the smokers, even sober, and I'd like to think in some way, I was an example to them that the "squares" were actually cool and a sober life wasn't all that bad.

Thomas could be a leader even during these times...

A couple of things. It'll be easy for the players attorney to delay things until Jefferson plays against UO- which right now is priority #1 at LSU.

Second, this quote caught my eye: "Charges have already been filed," Stone said. "Once we initiate the investigation and speak to the victims and they indicate they want us to pursue a complaint, charges are filed." Like Kobe paid off the chick he raped, I am sure these guys can be bought off as well. I think it safe to say the victim's attorney has probably fielded a multitude of offers from boosters... to drop all charges. We'll see if they accepted any of those.

Make no mistake about it, Miles & LSU have one goal in mind- Jefferson playing and winning the game. And this, to them, is hardly a blip on the radar screen. My best guess is that Jefferson will play and we will get the 'innocent until proven guilty' or 'we're conducting on our own investigation' BS defense from Miles and LSU.

Or maybe, just maybe, Miles will grow a set and do the right thing.
