....arguably the best defensive player in football is from Portland, Oregon? The Lions have suddenly become my 2nd favorite team. I've always kinda liked them since the Barry Sanders days.
Hey Zags...... wonder which HS he went to and I wonder if a certain poster on here used to babysit him when he was little?
I wish! His family was very close with our next door neighbors and him, their son and my little brother all ran around together. As a kid they played soccer together, he was bigger then the coach! Hadn't seen him in like 8 years, then he found me on facebook. I need to see if he''ll hire me during the lockout huh?
Nice. He's making a ton on sponsors too, with Chrysler and Dick's Sporting Goods. His mom Bernie's an usher at the RG. I used to talk to her about him when he was still at Grant and she'd just shrug it off like, yeah, he's really good at football. No big deal.
My dad (who is a coach still at Grant) was talking about how when he started getting really big in middle school he used to ask her about when is he going to start plating football. He said she used to say, "There is NO WAY he will ever play football!" I guess she was worried about him getting hurt.
Suh is a dirty player, not that it's a bad thing in the NFL. The Lions are playing up to Suh's level of energy, and that franchise needs some swagger. He just punched a Patriot player, and shoved one back to the ground earlier in the game. He's all business on the field, and well-spoken and well-mannered off of the field. I wish the Raiders could have had a chance at him.
Hah! Bet she's not complaining now. I could definitely see her not letting him play football. She's very stern.
Thats the best trait as a player. Psycho on the field, gentleman off of it. Most great defensive football players in the past have played like they want to kill their opponent on the field and been class acts off of it. Psychological warfare.
I really liked the Lions when they drafted Joey Harrington, and I watched them for his first two seasons there, but that was when I started to get burnt out on football and I haven't really watched them much since then.
I've been a Lions fan for over 40 years, and this year's team may be the best yet. I'm tempted to get the NFL package from Direct TV just so I can watch every Lions game. Stafford is going to be a great quarterback if he can stay healthy.
I think it's too early to label him as "dirty". But he is the biggest, baddest cat between the lines and if he can bring that attitude to the other Lions, then they might just rise above the level of crap they've been for the last 30 years.
hes not dirty at all, hes just a beast and plays like one, the new "no hit" qb rules are some pussy assed shit
