All these players are all over the world playing in these pick up games and tourneys. Just hope none of our guys get hurt. Looks like Beasley may have broken his wrist in China. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/215346/Report_Beasley_Injures_Wrist_On_Dunk_Attempt
I would imagine these guys are taking out personal insurance policies. I want to see most of our guys playing though. When the lockout is over, hopefully some of the youngsters are ready to contribute.
I could care less about the money aspect of it. I just don't want OUR players getting hurt playing for other teams.
It is not like these other teams are asking these guys to perform circus tricks. Injuries are part of the game. My fear is that we see the growth stunted of Luke Babbitt, Patty Mills, Armon and Chris Johnson, Nolan Smith, Nic Batum, and Elliot Williams. If 100% healthy, I would also put Greg in that group. Everyone else, I agree.
Yeah. Neither of those leagues go on strike or have teams with unfair advantages, or small market problems.
You got me there. And I don't like either of those sports. It just seems like a forgone conclusion that the season's gonna get canceled and I'm feeling very pessimistic about the 12/13 season. I'd almost rather not have a team at all than have to hope in vain for the next two years.
I'm not that upset, nor angry, about the potential lost NBA season. It might give me a chance to find something new to obsess over.
This logic always baffles me each summer. Basketball players PLAY basketball. What do you think they do in the summer? play scrabble 12 hours a day? THEY PLAY BASKETBALL. They could get hurt in their backyard or in a pro-am game... Personally, I'd rather the Blazers play basketball to get better.
