Castro Masaniani's "suspension" will be later in the season because of two defensive line injuries, meaning he apparently is needed against Sacto State.

I say let Riley run his team, and I won't criticize his decision to lift the suspension (unlike our resident OS troll), but man, do the Beavers really feel they need him against a team from the Big Sky conference? That doesn't say much about their team this year, does it?

i was thinking the same thing, could just throw a walk on out there and you should still win, this only hurts their chances later, and also gives people a reason to whine about not being strict enough

It's a sensible topic to discuss. I can tell you firsthand, the number of arrests and violations experienced by both Oregon programs is on the mind of alums and coaches. Kids aren't respecting the programs or the coaches. I admire Chip for his track record of laying down discipline. My opinion is that OSU should have bit the bullet and sat those suspended for game 1.

I've been predicting a VERY close Sac St/OSU game and it's possible Riley senses the same and knows his entire season could be at risk with a loss this Sat.

You have to consider what's best for the other kids imo. Why risk injury to other kids on the team since we're now thin on the D-line?

Calzano wrote an article blasting Riley, but of course, he had to get in 3 or 4 shots at Oregon.

In Calzano's mind, a player punching another player who slapped him on the shoulder is worthy of a full-season suspension, while a 340 lb. D-lineman dragging his girlfriend out of the car at a McDonald's parking lot, and actually pleading guilty to a domestic violence charge, is only worth a game.

But one was on national TV and has national media exposure, and the other is just a local story and doesn't stand out on a national level at all. Which one would you target if you were screaming "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I HAS THOUGHTS TWO!!1!111!"
