Insider Tom Haberstroh says LaMarcus Aldridge is like -- gasp -- Tim Duncan: "If you look at where Aldridge gets those 21.8 points per game, you'll notice more similarities with The Big Fundamental. No one will match Duncan's automatic bank shot ("Glass!"), but Aldridge is just as smooth with his midrange jumper. The advanced-statistics gold mine Hoopdata.com tells us that the Texas product shot 4.7 long 2s every 40 minutes last season, more than double what we'd expect from your average power forward. No, his shooting percentage from that zone (41 percent) doesn't quite match Dirk Nowitzki's, but consider that Aldridge drilled long 2s at a better rate than Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony. That's smooth." http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop
Not even going to click the link. Last year Duncan averaged his career worst in rebounds with 8.9 a game. LA averaged his best with 8.8 a game. Enough said.
If you click on the link you'll see the comparison is regarding offense and scoring. Their most definitely alike. And I look forward to LMA growing his game even more from last year.
I initially thought that Aldridge would be better than Roy, though I have to admit that I was beginning to doubt before last year!
It's not LA's fault he doesn't have any. Had Greg been at full strength, he might have 2 also........ FAMS!
On scoring alone, Duncan is not HOF worthy. It is like saying LMA is the next Lebron because they have similiar rebounding numbers.
Doesn't that mean Aldridge became less like Duncan last year, as his offense came more from the inside than in previous years?
