He's a shock jock. Anyone from the industry can pick him out right away. It's not journalism, it's sensationalism and it's tacky. It's the quick and easy way to get your stuff noticed, not for its quality but because you write controversial topics. He's not a good writer. He doesn't have any investigative skills whatsoever. He's just a troll on a more professional level.
Everyone hates Canzano, but no one does anything about it. Oregonian management are assholes who just laugh at what fans want. Someone should start a website. Better would be a dozen people who demonstrate outside wherever Canzano is present, like every news conference he attends. Best would be to save time and kick his ass whenever he presents his ugly shaved head.
He would love all of that. Picketing would make his day. Kicking his ass would be even better for him because then he'd play the victim card and get even more national attention. The best strategy for a writer like Canzano is the same strategy you use on a troll on the internet.... you ignore them. They feed on attention.
The guy has lasted a decade because of your strategy. And the kind of ass-kicking I'm talking about, he'd be afraid to show his face in Portland and quit. And don't forget to be mad at his employer, Oregonian management. I criticize them whenever I can for any issue because of this one issue.

Except that strategy (I presume you meant ignoring him) hasn't been properly implemented. I personally go out of my way to ignore him and avoid clicking on any link to his garbage, or listening to him on the radio. It will take more than a 3 person boycott to get him out of town.
