Nice interview. I like his attitude. I bet he would be a lottery pick in last year's draft.

Sounds as if he doesn't want to be in a NBA situation where he has no role, though. That said, the opportunity is here for him to get 20 minutes backing up Oden and LMA, or even being a starter in the worst-case Oden leaves/is injured again scenario.

LA is the new Duncan, Freeland is the new Splitter. huh.

Regardless, this is good news. I'm really surprised by how much he has developed from that summer league 3-4 years ago.

I view him as a 10 minute guy / 4th big type so I'm not sure his NBA future is with the Blazers.

He just looks a little predictable offensively where he relies heavily on his face-up game, but the problem is he is very right hand dominant. His low bpg numbers and just watching him move around on D has me thinking that he'd average at best on that end in the nba.

I'm excited about him mostly because he plays more like an NBA player than a Euro. His rebounding is also quite good and he is very mobile for a big. His upside is Przybilla on D mixed with average O. If he gets close to that, I will be thrilled. Either way, it will be fun to see how he shakes out.

Any video of him dribbling down the floor and shooting from outside while everyone clears out for him? Don't need any more teamball Euros who can't play Blazer Ball.

He's a PF, so I don't care about his face-up game or dominance on the block. What are his shooting %'s from the corner 3 and the 16-22foot jumper?

Is it not true that he will be a free agent and NOT required to come to the Blazers?

I'm not certain, but I believe he has to go to the Blazers unless he takes a year off of basketball completely. He will however, be able to negotiate a contract other than the rookie scale contract that he would have been required to use previously. This is how I understand things, but I am often wrong.

That was the case with the last CBA and doubt that changes.

The free agency the quote refers to is European free agency. He's free to sign with any euro team, or with the blazers. Or, I suppose, any team in China, Korea, Bangladesh, etc.
