I love this trade for both teams.
maybe there is something im missing but i dont like this trade... they could have gotten more for PJ AND JR...
What are you talking about? It is great for the Hornets. They want to get rid of JR because he has been a nuisance to the franchise, and wont play defense. PJ is 38!!! Tyson is alot better than PJ and could probably play Center. It is a great trade, and from the way I see it right now, Hornets are going to the playoffs..

And they don't have a starting caliber center, so Chandler seems pretty decent to me. Smith was gonna be on the move no matter what, its seems like they couldn't find any other takers, so this deal seems pretty solid to me. They do need some help at the 2, but I think their frontcourt is in need of more help.PaulSynderPejaWestChandlerPretty nice to me. Chanlder makes up for West's defensive short comings. Peja takes the place of Butler, and pressure off of Synder. They should try to add a defensive minded wing player though. Maybe they can move Marc Jackson for something. Or perhaps they can Move Mason to the 2? It helps to groom their roster, Brown for obvious reasons is not part of their future, and Scott made it clear neither was Smith. Good move for both teams.
JR Smith doesn't fit at all with the Bulls. I mean you got Ben Gordon, Thabo Sefolosha, Luol Deng, and Andres Nocioni. No more wings fit into there rotation. But PJ Brown was nice because he provides veteran leadership, soon to be expired contract, and I think he'll help Tyrus Thomas a lot.For the Hornets - I love it.C: Tyson ChandlerPF: David WestSF: Peja StojakovicSG: Desmond MasonPG: Chris PaulPlus Bobby Jackson, Hilton Armstrong, Rasual Butler (if they re-sign him), and Cedric Simmons off the bench. Plus the most underrated coach in the league BY FAR. 2007 playoffs - Hornets will be there. This team looks GREAT for the future. Great job.

I guess you missed that because you thought he would be playing the 4 for the Bulls this year. Also PJ is 37.
Yeah I did miss that. Thanks for the clarification.Edit: He would be playng the 4 for the Bulls this year. They got Ben Wallace at the 5. I dont know if you missed that or not

hoopshype says the deal is doneIm sad to see Chandler go cuz hes one of my favorite players cuz of his intensity, but i think it was necessary for the Bulls in order to clear up some cap space next season in order to resign Nocioni and HinrichI dont know too much about JR Smith, people say he has an attitude prob, but if he causes trouble in the locker room Skiles will send his ass home like he did with Erob and Tim Thomas
They still dont have that SG though. They lost another one in Smith. Even though the organization wanted him gone, it is still a big blow, because they are so brittle there now. They need to sign a SG like Fred Jones, Flip Murray or DeShawn Stephenson.

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...chandler_trade/Not a bad trade for either team. Im glad JR is out of NO and hopeully he doesn't have the same problems in Chicago

Why are they doing this?</div>They need to free up money so they can re-sign Nocioni and Hinrich. Chandler is much to expensive to backup Wallace, nor would he be happy doing so. Having Chandler along side Wallace would give them no offensive inside presence. Brown(expiring contract) can still play and will probably start for them much like Davis did aswell as tutor Thomas and Sweets. Not sure what they will do with Smith though, ever trade or buy out.

Im not sure if he will be ready for the NBA but if he isn't, PJ Brown isnt to bad to fall back on to.
Great trade for the Hornets, as I mentioned in another thread. I see the reasons behind it for Chicago, but I just think they could've been able to get more for Chandler elsewhere.
decent trade, but i think Chicago could've gotten a little more out of Chandler. It's nice to see Smith get a fresh start, but he's going to have a hell of a wake-up call with Scot Skiles. I'm not sure if he'll fit in at all with the Bulls. He can't play defense and he's lazy. he doesn't really care about winning. But hasn't this been an exciting off-season so far?? despite having a poor fa crop, there have been alot of moves. I'm loving it.
yeah i remember watching one show where JR smith said he would rather have two highlight dunks in a game than 20 points, im sitting there like what are you thinking? he would rather be on espn's highlights than win the game. i dont like his attitude at all
