Do you even know what happened that year? John Weisbroad screwed him over. He did ask for a trade because he was the ONLY ONE doing crap. Juwan Howard did explode...BUT NOT WHEN IT MATTERED. I don't know what happened to Drew Gooden. Tyron Lue was a pretty crappy PG for us. The bench sucked. DeShawn did join and a deliver but as like Juwan...He came when it didn't matter. After a while he said they don't have to trade him. But John Weisbroad as said up there screwed him over. If you read Slam(I forgot which issue) theres a article of what happened. TMac was cursing him. Calling him a faggot, ass etc. He woulda stayed in the Magic but no. Thats why I hate John Weisbroad and I have a little hate over Orlando now since they boo McGrady for no reason. But who cares...TMac loves it when people doubt him and boo him.

When TMac tries he is alot better defender then Pierce. They are both inconsistent, but I would give the Mac Daddy the nod there..
he's on another level?? That's just bullsh**. TMac actually "tries" on defense about 3 times a year. Pierce actually played superb defense on TMac when Houston played Boston, holding him to 14 points. Both of them CAN play defense, just offense is on their minds.
Gimme T-Mac. He had an extremely tough season last year, but people forget how good he is when healthy. In 2004-2005, for the 2nd half of the season he was averaging like 28PPG, 6APG and 6 RPG. Year before he held scoring title, also had 6RPG and 6APG. year before had 32PPG, around 6APG and 7RPG. T-Mac is better scorer, better streak scorer, better passer, and equal rebounder and defender. Pierce had a fantastic season last year, but he was on the decline for 3 straight years before then. He has never been the top swingman in league like T-Mac was 2 years ago and 4 years ago. He has never shown anything in playoffs individually like T-Mac did last year. A healthy T-Mac is on the same level as Kobe/Bron/Wade, while Pierce is a notch below with Gilbert Arenas and other fantastic scorers.

Just like we've had half of the other comparisons before. Like i said in the last thread, TMac is the far more skilled player, when he is healthy he is the obvious choice. But Pierce is more reliable, and could be called more of a winner.</div>hit the spot with that one.

He has the talent to play much better defense then Pierce. Pierce isnt a bad defender, but he isnt a good one either. TMac is a very good defender when he wants to be. I compare it to Kobe sort of...Kobe doesnt try on defense all the time anymore as well...
what matters is that he doesn't play d like that all the time. They are equal as defenders. in now way is mcgrady "on another level".
Dude, stop being a homer. TMac locked down Dirk in the 1st round of last years' playoffs. He held him to 23 ppg on 40% shooting.TMac is a great defender when he chooses to defend, and when he does, he is alot better on defense then Pierce. Just admit it. TMac>Pierce at defense. Stop being a homer.

I'm not being a homer at all. They are about even, bc it doesn't matter how they CAN play defense sometimes, it matters how they DO play defense, and neither of them are spectacular. So shut it.

Paul Pierce is a better defender, rebounder and leader. McGrady quit on his team back when he was with the Orlando Magic. Meanwhile, Pierce doesn't quit and he stays with his team through the fire. That really tells you a lot about a man. His teammates have a lot of respect for him and he always plays hard. McGrady has a tendency not to play as hard as he should and he has the injury problems.Pierce is one of the best players in the league at getting to the free throw line. So if you add everything together I'll take Pierce over McGrady. It just seems like it would be easier to build a winning team around Pierce than it would be around McGrady.
