Touchy Jews. But I also understand them. I get a hearty belly laugh whenever anyone speaks about Christianity as they are 100% wrong usually. But by the same token, the Jews were sharply divided about Jesus and movies made in Hollywood are designed more to entertain and make money than portray the truth. So go ahead and make the movie, Mel.
I think it's pretty hypocritical for him to play that part after all the anti-Semitic comments he has made in the past.
Why? This is about entertaining people and making money. It's not like some sort of true documentary. In fact, it's a pretty slick move. Say a bunch of anti-Semitic things and then make a movie about them. He'll get a ton of free publicity and rancor that it will generate interest in the movie.
some of his famous quotes, from his personal life "you look like a fucking pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of nigg.ers, it will be your fault" "Fucking Jews...the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." "Threaten ya? I’ll put you in a fucking rose garden you cu.nt! You understand that? Because I’m capable of it. You understand that?" "How dare you act like such a bitch when I have been so fucking nice!?" "I will report her to the fucking people that take fucking money from the wetbacks!" "I am going to come and burn the fucking house down… but you will blow me first!."
Um, those are lyrics from Tupac's latest album of lost material. Helllllllllllllloooo Clue phone to NateBishop03
Being white and painting your face black aside, it should not matter if a racist played MLK. It is acting.
i can get behind this. the only question is, will people not see the movie just because of this, and i think the answer is yes
How is an actor supposed to fully understand and immerse themselves in a role if are already ignorant and hateful towards the race of that character? I've never seen Mel play anything other than Mel, so I would be completely shocked if he actually took the role seriously.
I think people will have more problems with Mel regardless of the role. It is his money though and would probably not have heard of the character he was playing without him making a picture about it.
