Spain wins. Phooey. Rudy outplays Batum AGAIN. Double phooey. Navarro again proves that he is The Man. Should be MVP.
Batum 10 points. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A0PDk.85VXZO_mwAjgC8vLYF?slug=ap-europeanchampionship I thought it was 2 pm, but I was thinking PT and it was ET. I was killing time. Fuck. Someone will post the video here, and I thank you in advance.
That was one shitty second half from Batum. He showed some fire to end the first half, but missed shots and foul calls (with JCN flopping) threw him off his game.
I can't believe they bumped Deng to third team. He was possibly the second best player in the tournament. I can respect Navarro, but I hate his game. Flopping all over the place and chucking ill-advised running three point shots.
Rudy signed to play in Spain during the lockout, with an option to return after the lockout, or stay in the NBA. http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mave...47/if-rudy-fernandez-is-one-and-done-so-be-it
So Rudy reunites with Sergio! Sweet! Something to watch in the lockout. (Anyone figured out a way to watch Nancy games? Apparently their season starts October 1st-ish, and, of course, Nic will be playing for them.
Depth chart. Using European rules, would this team beat the Blazers? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Madrid_Baloncesto#Depth_chart
A link in that article ranks players by effectiveness points, per 28 minutes, pace adjusted. The Real Madrid center, Ante Tomic, ranked 4th highest all-time, when he played for his home country Croatia this summer. http://www.in-the-game.org/?page_id=15039 (far right column, 4th player down)
As I've always said, Khryapa has great heart, and his talent isn't bad, like a Nick Collison. He's better than almost all of the Blazers who replaced him over the years at substitute SF.
