    As I reported a week ago, Texas looks like it is headed to the PAC 12.

    Tech and the OK schools will come with them.

    Hopefully the powers that be go East/West and not North/South divisions

    If it's East/West it's the original PAC 8 and the Arizona schools and league formerly known as BIg 12.

    If it's North/South

    It's Oregon, OSU, Col, Utah, Cal, Stan, Wash, WSU

    And Texas, OK, USC, OKST, UCLA, ARI, ASU, TECH

    Absolutely insane... Texas, OK, Oregon, USC, Stanford... I don't think the SEC will be able to claim "best conference" much longer.

    The Pac 14? 16? would have to win some national championships first.

    4 divisions

    "The Pac-16 would most likely be divided into four-team pods with Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech in one pod; Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah in another pod; Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State in another pod; and USC, UCLA, Cal and Stanford in the other pod, the sources said."

    Fuck Texas, and Fuck Mack Brown. The only reason the Ducks are in NCAA trouble is because Mack Brown's program is regressing while other programs are playing for titles with Texas HS players as the stars.

    I'd take Baylor over Texas for purely personal reasons.

    Yeah but Texas brings much more prestige and credibility. It would be like adding an Alabama or an LSU. Despite what you may feel for Texas, but I would rather we add schools that will help bring the PAC to the forefront of college football.

    I don't like the idea of a super conference. I also think losing our games with USC could hurt our recruiting.

    4 pods is something my Texas boss/friend was talking about. If the PAC does it correctly, they will simply schedule like this.

    Oregon

    VS

    ORSU
    WASH
    WSU

    Then
    @STAN
    USC
    @COL
    ASU
    @TECH
    OKST

    Next season

    ORST
    WASH
    WSU

    Then

    CAL
    @UCLA
    UTA
    @ARI
    TEX
    @OKL

    Next year

    ORST
    WASH
    WSU

    Then flip flop home and away

    You should be able to play in each region twice in a kids 4 year career, and @ in a pod ever year. So the years you play USC and UCLA at home, you would play Stanford and CAL on the road

    I will use SO CAL as an example, with each line representing a year

    @USC
    UCLA
    USC
    @UCLA
    @USC
    UCLA
    USC
    @UCLA
    @USC
    UCLA

    I still think two divisions of 8 is better, with the original PAC 8 in one, but oh well

    Things are getting sticky once again. Texas is not my favorite school.....AT ALL!!!!

    Possibly reaching out to the ACC because Larry isn't giving in to all of their demands for their Longhorn Network. My friend thinks it's just a bargaining ploy though.

    Stay tuned for this circus. Tomorrow will be a big day....Possibly Tuesday

    Go buy Pac12 gear. Everyone will laugh at you in 10 years, then you can edimicate them that it really happened, once.

    Update:

    The deal over the LHN seems to be that UT gets to keep the $15m/year if that number is less than 1/16 of the revenues from the PAC Network. That means Larry Scott feels the PAC Network will generate more than $15m per team or $240 million per year selling tier three rights. The added teams make available alot more quality games at tier three. Plus, there are 100 million viewers to broadcast to. ESPN and FOX only get one game each so the left overs will be pretty valuable. The LHN contract set the market. Scott should get the money. He also plans to go international with the broadcast. This means each of the PAC schools can expect $35 million/year or more.

    I screwed that joke up huh? Damn it! On the topic at hand, I do not like the concept of a SUPERconference! I have kinda' enjoyed my Ducks dominance lately. I liked the intimacy of playing the same 9 other schools every season. Kept rivalries alive.

    I couldn't agree with you more. However, since super conferences seem to be inevitable, it's best to get the best schools you can.

    Go with the Bob Knight school of thought
