    Update again:

A source close to Texas and another one of the four schools says if Texas was to go to the Pac-12 it would be allowed to keep a "modified" version of the network called the PAC 16 Texas Network

Texas would be allowed to keep most, if not all, of its third-tier revenue under a formula being devised as long as the other schools in the Pac-16 meet a certain threshold of revenue, Indications are that the Pac-12 is now UT's top option.

I agree with HTC, er, HCP too. The Pac10 was great. Every game felt like a rivalry.

I know there are positives, money, more exposure for recruiting...but, I enjoy my Pac in 10's and even 12's.

Texas...sheesh...only steers and queers come from Texas.

Apparently there will be a NW pod, a CU/UU/Cal/Stanford pod, an AZ/ASU/UCLA/USC pod, and a UT/TT/OU/OSU pod.

The NW schools get bent over and fucked in that arrangement. The NW schools should veto it because it guarantees all of the current Pac-12 schools one game a year in CA. Why in the hell should CU and UU get a trip to the Bay Area each year?

seems like a lot of bending over backwards is being done (last year too) to make CU and Utah happy. Why again do they get more privileges than Schools who have been a part of this conference for years?

The reason why I love this addition is because it guarantees that teams like OU and Texas will HAVE to play at Autzen at some point. I'm tired of playing on neutral ground. Bring these big boys to Autzen so we can teach em a thing or two.

While I agree that it's not ideal, conferences are all going the super conference route. At some point all conferences will have this problem. Oregon will get to play in California every year, and in So Cal 2 out of 4 years. We also get to play in Texas 2 out of 4 years now as well.

Not true. You only play 2 schools out of the other 3 pods. There are years where a trip to CA may not happen.

in fairness to OU. They were gutsy enough to play a home and home with us.

Wouldn't it simply work like this?

You would always play 1 game in each pod per season?

    So for example

Oregon would play OSU, Wash and WSU

    Then @USC, @Utah, @Okie St
The vs Stan, vs ASU, vs Tex

just outta curiosity, does anyone know why a Pod is better than just an East West alignment? SEC does just fine with East/West

It means every team plays every other team in a two year cycle. Every team plays in California every year. Every team plays a So Cal school every year. Every team plays in So Cal every other year. and so forth. Every team gets to play their border rivals and in state rivals every year
